FAQ:
What is required to participate?
Before a study begins, any potential participant must go through a screening process to determine their eligibility. While screening procedures differ for each trial, many require blood tests, physical examination, and your medical history. This screening process ensures the safety and integrity of the study.
What does it cost to participate?
Study participants do not have to pay anything to participate. All study-related examinations and medications are provided at no cost to you. In fact, many studies will compensate for your time.
How long is a clinical trial?
The length of a trial and frequency of visits can significantly vary depending on several factors such as the study’s nature, research objectives, and the condition being studied. Some last only a few weeks, while some last several years.
Are clinical trials safe?
Patient Safety is a top priority in clinical trials. Every study is carefully designed with ethical considerations and guidelines in place in order to avoid any unreasonable risk. Additionally, participants receive close monitoring and medical supervision throughout the trial. Of course, each study does have potential risks such as side effects, or the treatment not being effective. All potential risks will be reviewed with you before starting a clinical study, and the staff will be able to answer any questions you may have.
Additionally, it’s important to note that even if you do choose to participate in a study, you may opt to leave the study at any point if you change your mind.
