Marissa Dembek, PA-C

Marissa Dembek, PA-C is a nationally board-certified physician assistant at Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists. Marissa graduated from UCLA with a Bachelors of Arts in Spanish language. After graduation, Marissa continued to work in clinical research in both pulmonary and psychiatry departments. She later briefly relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wingate University, acquiring a Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies. Marissa was motivated to pursue a career in medicine after enduring the physical and mental stressors of the ballet world. Her love for artistry as an expression of emotion guided her to the psychiatric field.

Marissa maintains a gentle and nurturing approach to treating patients, always keeping in mind that not all wounds are visible. Marissa adds a unique perspective to patient care at PNS by paying particular mind to holistic wellbeing, encompassing physical, mental, and emotional health. Marissa enjoys providing patients with integrative medical options like natural supplementation, and often educates on mindfulness, gratitude practice, nutritional psychiatry, and exercise as medicine in addition to diagnostics and pharmaceutical management.

Marissa has incorporated her undergraduate degree in Spanish into her practice as a PA, but also as a volunteer in homeless shelters and community clinics for underserved communities abroad. When she is not busy seeing patients and serving her community, Marissa enjoys hiking, kayaking, and discovering new restaurants with her friends and partner and attending yoga classes in the evenings. On the weekends she can be found curled up at home with her cat, Nocciola, and a long Stephen King book.
