Additional Information

Larissa Gonzalez, is a board-certified physician assistant who works with Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists to help destigmatize mental health and provide comprehensive, culturally-sensitive care.

Larissa was motivated to pursue a profession in medicine to increase healthcare access to underserved populations. Raised in Mexico and overseas, she was exposed to contrasting socioeconomic realities at a young age which inspired her to pursue a profession that could help mend health disparities on an individual and systemic level.

Prior to her medical training, she worked in research examining the neural basis of addiction, and traumatic brain injury clinical trials and later became a Research Coordinator for a multidisciplinary psychoneuroimmunology research group in the Texas Medical Center examining the role of fatigue, stress and long-term health outcomes in breast cancer survivors.

These experiences inspired her to develop an empathetic approach of always centering individual experiences in caring for others – accompanying them in the depths of illness, being present during the ups and downs of recovery and empowering others to find purpose, meaning and beauty in every stage of life.

Dedicated to mental health, She obtained dual bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Psychology from the University of Houston and subsequently attended the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City where she completed a Master of Physician Assistant Studies.

Larissa has worked in both Los Angeles and Orange counties serving a variety of populations which has made her mindful and compassionate about the unique circumstances affecting low-income, Spanish- speaking, LGBTQIA and unhoused populations.

Trained in evidence-based medicine and a deep understanding of how the mind, the body and the soul contribute to the healing process, L aims to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in a safe, non-judgmental, nurturing environment.

She brings a holistic approach when collaborating with patients to support sustainable habits and create harmony in all spheres of their lives.
