Sung Jin, or "Steve" Park, PA-C

Sung Jin, or “Steve” Park, PA-C is a physician assistant at Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists. Steve grew up in Irvine and received his Bachelor of Science degree in gerontology at University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. Inspired to treat patients, Steve gained experience as an EMT and soon received his Master’s of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Chapman University. Today, he finds great pleasure in helping others improve their mental health and lifestyle.

Steve is trained to diagnose, manage, and treat patients with various psychiatric conditions. He values the importance of listening to his patients – catching details and taking into consideration interpersonal relationships and situations to develop a plan that roots patients on a strong foundation that they can build themselves up on. Steve especially finds it rewarding when he can apply his degree in gerontology and help older adults achieve their highest quality of life, being able to well balance autonomy and safety together.

 

In his free time, Steve likes to relax by swimming, cooking, and solving puzzles. On Sundays, he takes part as a violinist in a praise team at his local church.

 

Like many providers at PNS, Steve is bilingual speaking both English and Korean. As a 1.5 generation himself, he understands the difficulty of cultural and generational differences when it comes to mental health and hopes to bridge the gap through his work.
