Cameron Vandenakker, PA-C

Cameron Vandenakker, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant at Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists. With a deep-rooted connection to the mental health field, Cameron’s early exposure came from his parents, both social workers at the Masonic Home for Children. 

There, he encountered adolescents grappling with abuse, mental health issues, and the need for medication. These formative experiences inspired him to pursue a career in psychiatry.

Cameron, a Southern California native, earned his Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Behavior from the University of California, Irvine, before obtaining his Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Chapman University. 

He is an active member of the American Association of Physician Assistants. Cameron’s approach to care emphasizes treating the whole patient—mind, body, and soul—aligning with Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists’ mission to listen, understand, educate, and support patients in achieving their best selves. 

He is particularly passionate about inclusive and affirming healthcare for the LGBTQ+ community. Currently practicing in Huntington Beach, Cameron is dedicated to serving patients of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.
